Creating Effective Business Cards (part 2)
In a previous post we’ve mentioned some ideas you should always keep in mind when creating professional and memorable business cards. We’ve emphasized the importance of creating clear goals before starting, carefully including all essential information, and spending a little more on the quality of the paper. We’ll continue with a few other ideas that you should consider in the process.
One of the most important aspects is certainly creativity. Try doing something that no one else has done before in order to remain lodged in your clients’ brains longer. Experiment with colors, shapes, and any other ideas that come to your mind. However, be aware at all times that it is just a business card, and that there’s no point in making something that can’t be placed in pocket or fit in one’s hand. Learn to be both creative and condensed.
The next thing is basically connected to what we’ve said earlier. While being creative is good, no one enjoys extreme complexity, especially when it comes to business cards. A simple, yet effective design is all you need for the card to work the way you intended. The paradox is that usually the simplest and interesting designs are not easily created. You really have to put a lot of effort in it, but since you already own a business or provide a service, it goes without saying that you should work hard for it to become successful.
Finally, you should always clearly state what your business is about. People should be able to know immediately what your skills are. You should make sure there’s no room for any guesswork. This will directly influence how you’re perceived and increase your response rate. Always remember to check everything before you start printing because you don’t want any mistakes and imperfections to slip by and not only waste your money but also damage your reputation.
The amount of attention you give to details reflects in all parts of your business and, therefore, even in your business cards. They are a summary of all your skills and services. Present yourself the best you can!
